Pardon the Dust!

I’m writing this month’s newsletter from my sewing studio in our new location on bustling Bayshore Drive in Sister Bay, I can look out the window and see the waves of Green Bay beyond the park across the street.

Some of my favorite helpers and I just finished preparing the shop to open in just a few short weeks, on May 27th.

Did You Know…

Quilting fabric prints are released in seasonal collections just like your clothes at the mall. I shop for fabric when I’m inspired by the colors or pattern of a fabric, long before I know what it will look like in a quilt. I keep stacks of matching fabric in piles until the inspiration for the quilt layout strikes, or I find the exact pattern that will showcase the fabric..

It can be a year or more before I decide what the fabric set will become, which means a specific fabric will be sold out from retailers before I begin to use it in a quilt, making it impossible to create another, and making your purchase one of a kind.

If you are planning to visit this summer make time for a waterfront sunset, they are my favorite!
