As I look back on the past 5 years, I think about the crazy thought I had in June of 2021. “I should open a store in Door County to sell my quilts!” I think I needed a purpose for my life after becoming widowed. I needed a reason to sew quilts. Twice the Quilt and More has been my second career, but I am ready to retire again. I am looking forward to visiting the many Door County festivals and summertime travels next year.

It has been a satisfying adventure to sell my quilts. During these five years, I refused to let making quilts be work. When sewing becomes work, I stop until the creative spark returns. Every item I complete satisfies me. I frequently wonder who will take an item home. I get to see the connection between the customer and quilt happen every day here at the store. It is always heartwarming when a quilt goes ‘home’

I will continue quilting, because it is my passion. Our website will be updated with my quilt projects and custom order options after we shut our doors here in Sister Bay.
